Some of the most selective colleges and universities, those often referred to as "elite", are recruiting transfer students in order to increase campus diversity. As the nation's demographics change, private selective colleges are reaching out to community colleges to find students to diversify their student bodies creating opportunities for community college transfer students that hadn't previously existed. Princeton even started admitting transfer students after years of a zero transfer policy.
